Cumulative Share of Income
The vertical (Y) axis measures the cumulative share of income in a country. As you move up the vertical axis (from 0 to 100), more and more of the country’s income is included.
Line of Perfect Equality
The 45-degree line is a straight diagonal line that starts where the horizontal and vertical axes meet (the origin) and slopes upward from left to right.
Cumulative Share of Population
The horizontal (X) axis measures the cumulative percentage of the population. As you move along the horizontal axis from left to right, more and more of the population is being added.
