Introduction
Charting in Excel allows you to easily insert a chart based on data from a worksheet, and it is easier than you might think. Charts come in various types that are appropriate for different situations.

Column or bar chart: Use this chart to visually compare values across a few categories.
Line or area chart: Use this chart to show trends over time or categories.
Pie or doughnut chart: Use this chart to show proportions of a whole. Use it when the total of your numbers is 100%.
